Our Story...

Our family works to provide products to serve you & your family for less.

Mountain Girl Shop has humble roots and remains tethered to its beginnings as we grow. We are Melissa, Byron, and Tommy Bowes who live and work out of our home in the mountains of Burnsville, NC.

Mountain Girl Shop was borne out of the need to support our family. Melissa was a young mother to Tommy, born with disabilities that require expensive medical services. Melissa and Byron, married 20 years, also worked to support Melissa's late mother who required round-the-clock care.

We started Mountain Girl Shop in 2019 to cover our medical expenses and necessities. It has bloomed into a business that has allowed us to provide our family the comforts we need, including the benefit of staying at home with Tommy.

We started purchasing palettes & selling the products to our friends on Facebook Live through the name Lovin' Live Boutique. Then we sought out manufacturers to sell to you our favorite products - Melissa curates our product offerings for clothing, which she caters to plus-size women. Now, we are offering products (like our new cups) that are designed customized just for you.
